Columbus, Ohio - On November 26, 1928, the Lincoln Theatre, then the Ogden Theater, was developed by the local entrepreneur Al Jackson. Designed in the Egyptian Revival style, the theater fulfilled a void in the African-American community by providing a place of entertainment and culture through films, live vaudeville and musical performances. In 1939, the Theater was renamed, The Lincoln Theater. Sadly in the early 1970s, the theater closed its doors not to open again… that is until now.
